Why we built it

Uganda runs ~80 ministries and ~336 separate systems. Each has its own login, its own queue, its own paper trail. Rural citizens and feature-phone users are largely shut out. There's no single, modern, trustworthy front door — nothing like Rwanda's Irembo or Ukraine's Diia.

OneGov is that missing front door — designed end-to-end as a sovereign platform so we ship value to Ugandans now, without waiting for any external system we can't currently access. It's architected to connect to the national rails (UGHub) or directly to MDA registries the moment access is granted.

Who's building it

A focused 10-developer team at Desishub Technologies Ltd (Kampala), using our own Grit Framework — a full-stack Go + React meta-framework we maintain in-house. Sovereignty isn't only data — it's also the toolchain.

What's next

• Real exchange-layer connectors

  Swap the mock RegistryProvider for NIRA / URA APIs (or UGHub) — zero caller changes thanks to the interface boundary.

• Real payment gateway

  Swap MockProvider for our DGateway product — same PaymentProvider interface, same idempotency guarantees.

• Desktop client for civil servants

  A Grit Wails desktop app for daily power use and field offices — offline-first, syncing to the same API.

• Citizen mobile app

  A Grit Expo app on the same API and shared types.

• USSD + agent network

  Additional API consumers so feature-phone Ugandans and assisted-service agents are first-class.
